I still feel that this is an idea worth implementing.

The current lvl system is what peeked my interest in this game from the get go. Once I discovered that a lvl cap didn't exist I was sold on FT.

I agree, but I think the exp to gain a lvl shouldn't cap, either. When the game began, so many years ago, the idea of a player reaching 3k+ was as unbelievable as alien abductions. Now, there are many players over that, and they grow exponentially (rather than linearly, as manual states) due to an unforeseen mechanics issue, resulting in them getting stronger without increased requirements.
I'm not advocating punishing players that didn't report, as nobody even considered the possibility that it could be a bug/flaw. Like many changes over the past, the game must adapt to changes, or grow stagnant.
