Drop Notification Sound

This request would be very easy to implement and super beneficial.

Could we see in a future update a notification sound to be played each time a NPC drops? Nothing overly obnoxious and could be just a small ding, like metal hitting metal.

There are many times when I'm sitting in the office working and I have my character grinding and I'm playing solely by the sounds I'm hearing then checking the screen every once in a while. The ability to hear a drop would be wonderful as I wouldn't be losing low percentage drops from higher level NPCs.

Anyways, thanks for all you guys do to make this game more enjoyable each day. :)

Perhaps include a command line option to turn off the drop sound so that you can enable it or disable whenever you wish. This could be done from the frontend of the application where the Music and Sound Effects on/off settings are at or could be done with a command in the chat box such as follows.

/dropsound on
/dropsound off

I agree with what you said though, in some areas of the game the drop sound would be too much to bear. ;)

na i dont think this will do much help. the whole point of the drop items shifting down the screen so they didnt stay fixed behind the chat was in essence a way to stop auto clicking... the whole point is that you the user play the game if there was a sound added you would leave it and only look when you hear the tone

I hear what you are saying but cheaters are going to cheat regardless and should be dealt with as discovered. Penalizing the whole game or not implementing basic game mechanics or enhancements because of a few would be poor business. Being a 40 year old gamer and only being able to game during office time means that I have to game a little differently than some who can stay glued to the screen for extended periods of time. I'm a technology manager and have the ability to game at slower times during the day while still performing normal daily tasks. That said, I would find it invaluable to hear drops when grinding and I only have the ability to occasionally glance at the screen. The ability to turn on/off the sound would allow it to be used by those that need it or want it and not used for others that find it distracting.

One of the reasons I enjoy FT so much is because it isn't a game that requires 100% attention and can be played at leisure while multitasking.
