Is the FT world flat?

Pythagoras came up with the idea that the Earth is spherical, but what about the FT world?
At the moment it appears to be flat. For example, if you try to walk south from the Sapphire dragon map you hit an invisible wall. One day, will this all change and your character reappears at the northern end of the map?
