Upcoming changes: Clans - Structures Upkeep

===============
Latest update:
LAUNCH OF THIS FEATURE HAS BEEN DELAYED INDEFINITELY.
The idea is still considered sound, but it has been decided it is better put off for now, until all nuances are worked out in full.
If and when it will be picked up again, players will be notified ahead of time
===============
In 1 week, on June 3rd, the update will hit the FT world, in which Structure Upkeep will be introduced.
What will it mean? Every tower and castle will require daily costs for maintenance, or upkeep.
The cost will be set at 3% of total structure cost*, which includes cost of initial building + cost of all level-ups for the structure.
Gold will be automatically subtracted from clan coffers.
In case clan does not have enough gold to pay for upkeep, the structure processed currently will be downgraded. Cost of downgrade by 1 level will be set same as when selling whole structure: 75% of building/upgrade cost.
For a clan with no gold left and multiple structures all structures will be downgraded proportionally, so there won't be any sudden gaps in your defenses.
So - keep an eye on your clan gold, prepare and prove your clan is strong enough to keep what you have!
________
* This price may be adjusted in future

UPDATE 1
First and foremost - don't rush into selling, rebuilding and other panicky things just yet.
Secondly, we are considering small tweaks in the feature, like multipliers and terms, but we'd like to hear from you some numbers and ideas instead of complaints and tantrums.
Thirdly, there will be a few things to alleviate the pain of downsizing for those who decide to go that way:
1. A manual downgrade feature will hit the game before the upkeep, so owners will be able to sell parts of their buildings instead of whole structures.
1a. As a one-time event, downgrade price will be set a 1.5x cost of upgrade instead of normal 0.75x. It will be active until the upkeep feature hits. This will at least in some way compensate clans for efforts they have put into building.
2. By the request of Duke of a clan being liquidated (If someone will take this route), gold from it will be transferred to other clan's coffers. No cashing out, only to other clans. Multiple if members decide to join different ones, but at the discretion of the Duke.
3. GMs will help with relocating existing structures. We understand that downsizing might require changing the setup of the clan buildings, so, in order to not make clans rebuild from scratch, we will do this. One-time relocation only. Reasonable limits will be set on this feature, like moving buildings only within same map etc. A forum post will be made, where dukes of clans will make applications with complete relocation description. Please don't post your desired changes in this thread.
And let me remind you that the feature is called 'upkeep' and it represents maintenance for the buildings. Current repairs and wages to personnel manning weapons that launch those missiles and arrows on which you rely to protect your space, if you will. This is not a tax, it is not collected for some sinister purpose. In no way it can be used by creator or GMs to make any kind of profit.
