Knives, axes, fishes. Range 8? I think that no

I think that this "skill" has got the range broken 
For example if one mage or archer is attacking you whit 8 range, you can't throw it but if you are mage or archer you can attack. When you see knife on your bag shows 8 range but is a lie.
This can do disadvantage on map clan (castles ,towers, walls is blocking and can't be near for throw when your mates are hiting the enemy.
In other maps also because it is easier to escape.
