A couple questions and clarifications on fishing:

1) Does player level make a difference?
2) Does fishing (trade) level make a difference?
3) Location?
4) Fishing with a group? I ask because I often see a large group on start map

I'm curious, because I have caught almost 800 fish since the last non-fish item and wondered if I'm doing something wrong. I know the chance to get a non-fish is low (even rare...pardon the pun), but my stats appear extreme.

I am not certain on how fishing works exactly. I'm hoping that fact will change soon.
However, there seems to be some consensus on it.

Item level is directly related to player level somehow; the higher your level, the higher levelled items you *can* fish. However, any player can fish the low level stuff.

Fishing skill, I'm told, only affects the rate at which you get drops, not what the drops are. I'm not positive though.

Fishing location makes no difference at all. Start map is popular because it is a safe zone, and a good place to buy/sell items due to it's popularity. Group fishing or individual fishing should not make any difference.

From mid-level 4 to mid-level 6, I have caught only 2 L100+ items plus a couple really low level drops. I hope my frustration is evident (when I need a Mithril Club and Mithril Pickaxe to drop!)

i have 9 in fishing and i fish mostly fish and some low level items after new upgrade .... disappointing .

Fishing was recently changed.
It is no longer possible to fish items levelled 500 and above.

i understood this, GM , and to tell u the truth i never fished an item bigger that my level , and i never complained.

what i mean is that now i fish mostly low level items , around lvl 10, and really less than before, i was thinking if my luck changed so drastically or,

for ... some reasons ...

a decrease of fishing % has been setted with last update

I suppose, it is possible, that some other things were changed in fishing.
However, I've not heard anything definite about it, like chances or anything.
If I hear something, I will post it.

I fished a 500 sword when i as 150 lvl but fishing too much...
