Forum posts moderation

I did not like being told to wait for a mod to approve my posts. I don't mind them being moderated afterwards. Just don't like the idea of posting something now, waiting who knows how long for it to be approved and only then giving others a chance to view it and respond. I'm currently waiting on 2 replies of mine to be posted. Slows down the communication.
Me: Even replies must be approved by a moderator?
Friend: Nilez, once you've posted a certain number of times on the forum, you'll no longer need to have a moderator approve posts or replies. It's to prevent spammers joining the forum and then flooding the place with ads
Me: I thought only players could sign up.
Friend: No, it's possible for someone to join the forum without being a player. The forum registration and sign-on process is separate from the FT game. They're not linked.
Me: Ask them to link it. Problem solved.

Within a certain number of posts this gets taken away. Idk exactly what it is though.
However sometimes you get stuck in newbie mode and need an admin to place you in the correct group.
Personally had this happen, went months not knowing any better. Pm an admin (Gandalf did it for me) to correct it.

Not what I was saying..
Edit: my point was to link both forum and game accounts so that when someone, even a new player (old player who's new to the forums) posts a topic, others can immediately see and reply to it.
Moderators can moderate it later on (which would be the norm, if mod approval is removed after a X number of posts anyway).
The forum profile can be linked to a players primary game profile. Alts can't post as primary is ready to post.
Secondary game profile (alt next in line) becomes the primary, if the primary is banned for any reason.

it's a good idea - but the problem is that they will just create "fake" game accounts to be able to spam the forum... they sometimes get hundreds of posts in before anybody realizes they need to be blocked :/

I know what you're saying, but what you're suggesting won't have the desired results you expect them to achieve.
It takes a few seconds to create an account, within 5 minutes you can create both accounts in-game and forum that could post hundreds of spam posts on the forums before it could be caught. There's also no way to prove or disprove an alt at face value unless they're all linked name-wise (mine for example). Even still there are lots of similarly named players that have no relation to each other but could appear to be alts at face value. (Apparently there is an account "Peanut" and "Pecan" already, but they're not mine)
Even if you were to force the email registration, it only takes a minute to create a fake email.
