Forgotten Tales

I have played video games all of my life. I have also played the pen and paper dungeons and dragons and shadowrun games. I have played mostly rpg's. I have played many games that shaped me into the player that I am today and led me on the path to FT. Now there are way too many to name but to name a few, these are games that will be forever in in my rpg resume and always be a part of me: The dragon warrior/dragonquest series, the final fantasy series, the legend of zelda series, the diablo series, and World of Warcraft. There are so many more but we'd be here all day. So. What game or games led you here to the mighty doorstep of Forgotten Tales?

I grew up in the early 90s with an nes and snes. Final Fantasy and dragon warrior were classics. I've played all those you've listed. I overlooked forgotten tales about a year ago when I first discovered it and wrote it off as not worth my while and am glad I came back to it later. It's a great game.

ah, the other thread was about games, and I listed mine there...

What got me into forgotten tales?

Spoiler: Show: Well, a few years ago, I had a blackberry phone with a 2.75" by 2.75" screen, and it was my only device with internet access.
The blackberry store is quite limited; however, and I tried several games that weren't that great...
Then I came across FT RPG and FT MMORPG... both cost 3 bucks, and I had little money...
After a few days, I decided to try the MMO.... and it was great

How did I start out?

Spoiler: Show: I started the game, with a swordsman named MadMikael. And didn't realize I was supposed to pick up the forester's book!
Found the forum, and was told to find a GM in game. Found Enmer, and he replaced it no problem!
Then I made some friends, had fun in game and on forum, couldn't put the game down.
Grinded my butt off to get to level 70, for a skin. Still have the king skin.
Joined a clan named AHOU. Didn't like it (swords really sucked at PvP, and got tired of magix killing me too; the clan was cool though)
My friend and I decided to make archers, for PvP. We eventually joined a clan called halo, and quickly became lords.

So what happened next?

Spoiler: Show: Well, my activities on the forum really got the moderators attention.
I would consistently help players, and some reports I made even earned me a level.
I also set up a FAQ list for the team and programmer, based on forum posts and questions in game.
Then in private, I was contacted by 3 moderators... all asking me to consider applying.
After talking with all my friends and clanmates, they supported me fully.
So, I decided to take the plunge, and applied.
Finally, after months and months of waiting... new maps were added!
I was gearing up with my clanmates to go explore the new blitzbee island...
Then I got the call... and was to start training immediately.
To my surprise, another player I was friends with, was recruited as well.
And that's the day Arachnia and I started our moderator (GM) careers

I'm sorry to hear that.
It depends a lot on the type of player you are, and how outgoing you are.
If you go around attacking everyone, sure, it will be hard to make friends.
But, if you find yourself grinding with others, why not try chatting?
Also, post a bit on the forum; Off-Topic is a great place for chat...
And the minichat on the front page as well.

I'm not much of a pvp person. I mainly just quest and grind. Mainly grind now since I've done all possible quests for my level barring the impossible ones, I.e black pearl. And the main quests great houses due to the absurdity of the item requirements. And most the players I've found don't speak or speak other then English.

I can be a friend...careful with me im a bit crazy u could say i speak spanish and english if that doesn't apply its not a waste to learn a new language

I agree.
I use Google Translate a lot, and I'm picking up many Spanish and Portuguese words, among others.
It's nice to be able to look at chat and know what someone is saying, even if I still need the translator to reply.
If I could, I'd learn all the main languages in FT... but I'm not that ambitious

How can you reply when a lot speak in Greek. And my keyboard doesn't have that function lol.

Yes, I feel your pain.
I use Google Translate while I'm in game; since I can't copy/paste from chat, I have to type in what people say to translate.
I am even learning some words in Spanish and Portuguese; maybe one or two in Polish as well (ones that aren't cusses!)
However, Russian, Greek, and most Asian/Indonesian languages are so different in alphabet, I cannot translate at all.

However, there are one or two helpful Greek players I know, that speak English. Maybe, they can help out if you desire communication.
One of them might see this post, and reply.
If you're interested, just say so, and I'll ask him to contact you.
