Fished items should be based on one's character. While all character's might have same chance to fish ANY item, each specific character should have higher chance to get item specific to itself. So, mage's have higher chance to get mage gear; dwarves higher chance for dwarf gear, etc. Plus, level of the gear should better align with a character's level. It probably makes no sense for a L150 character to get L750 gear, but L200, L250, L500 are within reason.

I kinda agree
Fishing is not as fun as it used to be.
Sure, I never was high enough to catch the 2k items....
but, when it was possible, the amount of high level players at start was great
got to sit and chat with players that I rarely see (as they rarely leave their clan maps etc.)
Honestly, I miss that.
I'd love to see a reason for higher levels to fish again.
If not the gear itself to be fished, why not maybe, rare chance on fishing items that allow you to craft said gear? (if your level is high enough, as another suggested in a previous reply).
I don't know what the future plans are. The only thing I was told was, that 2k items will return, and may have an ability to craft. Why not make some of the craft ingredients fishable?
And also, add some other things to fishing as well - maybe not the BEST items, but some DECENTLY GOOD items.... so say you die, and lose some gear... you could fish to replace a piece of it maybe.... idk... but fishing needs some work, on this I think we all agree.

I wish also 1k Gear, see that in new map no portal and crafting complicated..

I completely agree that fishing needs to be reworked to make it fun again. At least let us fish items up to 1k. Only being able to fish items up to 499 is just not good.
