A clan mate asked me to test to see if their newer house offered them shop/pvp protection as they did not believe that newer houses offered this. We tested a house that he has owned for a long time and the pvp protection was in fact working. Then we went to a newer house that he has purchased and pvp protection was not offered. He has owned this newer house for a few weeks I believe but if needed I will gather details and post them here in this thread. Is any1 else having this problem with newer houses?

How old is the "old" house vs new one?

Mine currently does not have protection anymore, as I was attacked whilst crafting and almost killed because I did not know I was under attack the other day.

Ive had it for a while, and I thought it was changed so that no house has pvp protection? Weird that some day and some don't. You sure it wasn't being protected by something else? (City or shop nearby)


I disagree with it though, private houses should provide them just like a shop. Yes people might have abused it in pvp to run to someone's house in a fight, but at the same time it ain't fair to those thst spent the money on a house to be wide open when using it.


I could see people easily wanting theirs moved or relocated because of the change.

How about a compromise?
PvP protection ONLY for the house owner?
AND only when they are right next to the house (so they're crafting or something).
But... I've noticed, sometimes, I can access my house from a few steps away.
Maybe, if it were implemented so the protection is on when you're in the menus?
IDK.. that part may be hard to program.

Anyhow, if you get something solid, you should post in suggestions.

He has owned his old house that is not on the same map as any shop for a long time. I will ask him later when he bought his new one and post info here. He is offline atm.

I completely agree with you that private houses should provide pvp protection for the owner. It makes no sense that the owner could be crafting or looking in their house for items and they could be attacked.

Is there a GM that could weigh in on this?

Yeah I'd go for that. A little bit of "range" around it (not too much, just a few tiles around should suffice) as sometimes your avatar doesn't walk within melee distance before stopping.

But yeah, I had no idea that the pvp protection had even been lifted on houses til I saw myself under attack. Of course once they saw I had exited and started fighting back they took off.

It hasn't been lifted on all houses. We tested both his houses this morning. One provided protection and one didn't.

Ok. He told me that he bought his old house way long ago and his newer house he bought around a couple of months ago.

If a GM needs coordinates with screenshots just let me know and I will go get them.

If PVP really was removed for all houses then he's gonna be mad when they fix his old house that still offers pvp protection!
