PvP Change
As a player that has zero interest in PvP, it bugs me when I'm attacked unprovoked. I know all the PvP fanatics will absolutely loathe this suggestion, but I'm saying it anyway just so my idea is official!
First, create a new system setting for PvP, which defaults to off. Any player that wants to engage in PvP, can turn it on before logging on their player. Players with this set to on can attack clan or other players (based on existing game rules) if they have it set to on. A message displays if a PvP player attempts to attack a non-PvP player
Second, once a player joins a clan, the PvP setting automatically switches to on and system locks field. Players can not reverse this action unless they either:
a) leave the clan (which sets back to off)
b) pay for PvP Protection
Third, outlaws set to on. On related note, if a player chooses to set to off, they forego ability to attack outlaws
With this change, players can still PvP for no charge. The game still earns money for PvP protection. And, players that despise PvP can play without fear of attack.

I really like the idea to opt out of PvP, and NOT in the sole manner of the bought protection.Humble_M wrote: Sun Jan 14, 2018 11:57 pm As a player that has zero interest in PvP, it bugs me when I'm attacked unprovoked. Honestly, I think that's backwards; if anything, players should be paying for PvP, not to escape from it.
But I digress...
The option to opt in/ opt out would need careful consideration to not be abused - as the current bought mechanic can be.
When you choose to opt in, you should get a few warnings about it... and once set, it should not be easily reversible.
I mostly agree with Humble's ideas above - but I don't think you should be able to set it while offline.
Removing the PvP status would not be available for clanned players or outlaws.
For everyone else, there should be the two options:
1. Buy the protection item for quick opt out of PvP.
2. An in game free method, that takes time. Now this can be in the form of quests, or it can be a simple timer like the outlaw thing.
But as a note, whenever a change is made in PvP status, there should be a time delay before you can change it again.
Like maybe once a day? Or longer? 3 days, or even a week...
Basically, choosing PvP or non-PvP is meant as a play style choice, and not to be turned on and off at a whim (like current mechanics allow).
If you ask me, the current mechanics of who you can attack and who you can't don't work right, as the complaints about it never cease.
Well, except when the players just get tired of it, and stop, or leave.
The idea that you can be a blood thirsty murderer one minute, then a peaceful citizen the next, and then back to a murderer the next is ridiculous.
I'm not talking of a secret murder; I'm saying you can watch someone do this. It's ludicrous.
Ok, I just saw you kill my friend, but now you're peaceful so I can't touch you... soon as I turn my back, you kill my other friend.
Seriously, who in their right mind would stand by and not do anything? And yet, the game forces this.
The system should be redone if you ask me.
Magic is one thing, but in most fantasy/fiction, it has some logic behind it. This is more of a form of anarchy.
It really makes no sense, and after all these years, I'm tired of trying to figure it out.
You called me strong, you called me weak
But still your secrets I will keep
You took for granted all the times I
Never let you down
You stumbled in and bumped your head, if
Not for me then you'd be dead
I picked you up and put you back
On solid ground

Re: PvP Change
i think some adjustment to attack mechanism for melee should be enough. modify pvp by setting a status .. is unnatural. better as it is

Re: PvP Change
I have already suggested "PvP by acceptance".
You make a challenge (may be implemented as mail in new trading system). If opponet accepts challenge, you fight. If not, you shall not fight ))

Outlaw on attack if the player is unclanned, but outlaw only lasts 84 hours (3.5 days)

Re: PvP Change
Outlaws can and should be attacked upon. Pls make no change in that. Anyone can attack any outlaw. But Once a Person becomes outlaw he should have certain restrictions. After Outlaw damage reduce by 75%, Dex reduce by 75% and Hp reduce by 75%. Outlaws shouldn't be able to use Speed pots, unfreeze pots and speed boots. They can't buy anything from any shop. I don't see the logic of an outlaw buying anything from shop. Why will a shopkeeper sell anything to a outlaw without informing to the guards first? After all shops are non pvp areas. So why will they be welcoming for an outlaw ?outlaws should also be attacked upon near shops.
Whoever is in clan should be able to enjoy pvp as it is i think. No changes is needed.
About those who are not in clan the current pvp allows pvp in a range of 3 lvls lower than the player level. But a player can attack anyone higher than his lvl. I would suggest 1 thing the player who attacks 1st will get his damage reduced by 50% and dex by 50%. By this a player will think twice before attacking another player. The player who gets attacked upon will have better survival

What is Death!!
To think our self confidence is lower than that of our enemies is Death!!
Staying alive in battlefield in fear of our enemies is Death!!
Running from our enemy instead of fighting is Death!!
