It would be useful for a player to be notified when they or their pets are attacked by players (PvP) or monsters when on an FT screen other than the main game screen (e.g. chat, storage {bank,tavern,house,pack,pet}, other popup)

This gives them a chance to retaliate/run/log

Good idea. I suggest that the perimeter of the screen flashes red as a warning.
