How do you get to the mage tower island in -1,-3 ?

I've found the maze under the island. Is there a 2nd level maze, leading to the other staircase ?

I got to a room with a downstairs, a sign "below in the maze? Of doom, and teleport back to the beginning (outside theteleport maze)

I believe you're talking of the room in the lower left corner of the teleporter maze.

Go down the stairs, and be wary of the Spectre Wizards down there.... make it through, and you'll find the tower up the two sets of stairs.
