this is a very old problem, never fixed. so maybe if i call it a bug?

imagine soldiers running with their guns towards the enemy until they can touch him. only then they raise their gun and fire.

imagine police under fire by a murderer. do they hide and return fire? no they run towards him until they can touch him and only then get their pistol and fire.

INSANE isnt it?

but that is what the archer in ft does. if you target someone he will run towards him until in mellee range and only then fire. kind of negates the whole idea of ranged weapons.
only when you dont target he will stay put.
kinda lime the ild mafia with a tommy gun. hose the whole room with bullets. close urceyes and fire blindly

I look at it this way - it's easy for an archer to shoot arrows into the group if he's not concerned with hitting one specific target. If he needs to be more accurate (hit a specific target) then he may need to adjust his footing and focus a bit more to find the exact correct range. - In the game, it plays out the same way... the archer can target a specific enemy, then he gets his footing right by moving a couple steps toward the target. you can stop him from running all the way to the target by tapping the joystick, then he's hitting your selected target. ;)

This is a bug that seriously need be fixed...
The archer keeps walking till he reaches the target. Thats ridiculous. Why do we have to stop it from moving by clicking joystick. It shouldn't move at all..
Game creators please fix this bug. Ranged character autowalk need be fixed..

I understand everybody's frustration, but personally I think it's great... actually gives an opportunity for us players to be skilled at playing an archer, and better or worse at it than other players, rather than everybody being the same because it requires no skill ;)
