Missing Reward

I repaired the tunnel entrance between Hobb's Mine and the Ogre's house. I passed thru the tunnel, but nothing happened. I don't recall seeing a message about earning XP or gold, although the quest is gone from the quest book. Also, assuming that I'm in the correct house, the Ogre doesn't have a talk ? above his head.

Reward is simple:
Hobbs Gold Mine <-- secret passage --> Ardesia City
