Lost quests due to having pets!

I know of a few quests that require:
- buying a dog and delivering it to ...
- buying a dragon and taking it to ...
- escorting three kings to ...
- ... are there more?

Here's the problem. The quests CAN NOT be done if a player has 2 pets.
Wait a minute, I pay RL $$, or 2b game gold for each pet and I have to kill one to do these quests?
I think (and this is just me here) this is grossly unfair.
Suggestion:
Having the quest itself should allow the purchase of these "pets", or "escorting the kings", all three at the same time if wanted, but disabling their "storage/fighting capability" so they cannot be used for those functions and are "true followers" that can still be killed so MUST be taken care of to complete the quest.
With or without shop or purchased pets!
Therefor not wise to bring all three kings at once.
Thoughts from the developer appreciated.

I hereby invoke my title of "developer of often bad ideas" that will allow me to comment.
The big obstacle as I understand things is that those three pets and also...
IV: Princess Resa,
V: Lost adventurer guy,
VI: Spectre ghost for what's his name in the tower,
VII: Amazon girl from the tavern, and
VIII: Probably others still!
... are treated the same way as any other pets. There'd have to be a distinction in the coding for "quest pets" probably. Pets like the kings, Resa, amazon, and the trapped adventurer I can see as being distinct pets because they don't need to be good for anything else. The other ones though would be hard to distinguish because you probably go through dozens of war dogs for mining purposes, and boss dragons at 360 are awesome pets too. I don't know how you'd get around needing to buy those pets as "quest pets" vs "real pets." (I sure played around with my first dragon on the way up to get the black pearl too!)
I do like the theory though!

I knew there were more I was just making a point.
All I am saying is: With a "Quest" allow the appropriate "3rd pet/follower/NPC" whatever.
There could even be a built in time limit that the "3rd pet/follower/NPC" lives before it "dies", say, for example, 24 hours after it's acquired! That way it can't be abused (for too long) to carry stuff
Someone gets it and 2 minutes later hears ..."OK son, bed time. NOW!" and the kid can't play until end of the next school day.
Get my drift?

Live until server reset would probably make things work easier. Maybe? I suppose instead of a timer attached to each individual pet a timer for all pets makes an easy reset? Either way though would allow for the end result.

Of course the problem is in the timing of when you get pets versus fulfilling a quest. For those who have gone before with alts doing quests you know for instance do the old man and wardog before you get your own two pets etc. But I am fairly sure there are a lot of players who do not consult the quest manual carefully and plan out where and when. It is cool and advantageous to have pets until.... gasp I can't do that now unless I kill a pet. It would be hard even for a seasoned player to properly coordinate to have the chance at a free pet baby ptery only to find another worthy pet has to go to make room because he would have had to limit himself up to that point. Same as mentioned the dragon which is the doorway to a whole section of the game. Hope there is a solution for all the aspiring players especially.

There is a salutation to this issue already and it's still being worked on. Please be understand that the administration team is short on staff. But keep in mind good things will come for those who wait. And I'm sure soon you will find the wait will be worth it.
