Maybe the "whip" icon should shoe when you tap on other players, not just pets. In addition to clearing a path it'd just be fun and/or therapeutic at times! ;)

you didnt live FT when GMs punish these players! I experienced that, from Ardesia DaHobbit MadMikael and others GMs days from some years... its annoying.

Not a programmer but here's an idea:

"standing (fishing is standing) still on bridge for 10 seconds":

1st offence = 30 min in jail with a text box:
You have been sent to jail for 30 minutes for blocking a bridge.
Next offence is 60 minutes
2nd offence = 60
You have been sent to jail for 60 minutes for blocking a bridge.
Next offence is 120 minutes
3rd offence = 120
You have been sent to jail for 120 minutes for blocking a bridge.
Next offence is 240 minutes
4th offence = 240
You have been sent to jail for 240 minutes for blocking a bridge.
Next offence is 480 minutes
5th offence = 480
You have been sent to jail for 480 minutes for blocking a bridge.
Next offence is Permanent Jail
6th offence = permanent
You have been sent to jail Permanently for blocking a bridge.
plenty of warnings.... Bridges cleared.

EDIT:
Although I do SO love Blitzcraigs first offence response. Would have to be written into the rules though.
+1

I like this.

I'd add that offenses are at account level (alts are not treated separately). If a person's main player is flagged, then ALL of his players (including alts) are subject to penalty. Otherwise, what's to stop a person from using a dozen alts to continuously block a bridge?

My guess is that punishment such as mute or outlaw status is based on actual time passing and not playing time? That is, someone who has such a punishment for "one day" could just take a break for two days and log in without any actual punishment?

I'm sure it would be harder to track, but making that punishment last for 24 in-game hours would be a lot more of a deterrent. Someone who only plays for short bits at a time could have that punishment effectively linger for weeks.

For LK's idea I'm in favor of the theory. However many seconds of "standing still" or minutes of jail would be served could be worked out (increasing scale for jail time, of course), but it'd be a great idea. It'd also lend some hope to some afk detection coming through.

Naturally, any punishment being counted as in-game time would be awesome. No, you can't get out of a short jail stint by watching a show or something!

Also, the whip icon should show and not shoe...

Agree with the last two posts.

1. Agreed, penalize the player, not just the "account" that committed the offence. The pixels are innocent, it's the fingers that controlled them!

2. Did not think of "game time" but: YEA! Countdown timers can't be that hard, they are all over the net.

And a BIG: Thank you, witch.
