So this week I had someone show me something. This may already be known by many but I had no idea this even existed so I wanted to share this here for others just in case they don't know about this great tool.
I work at an Italian company and many of the documents that we have are in Italian. This includes blueprints, instructions, computer programs and documents, and manuals for various pieces of equipment located in the plant.
I was shown by a co worker recently that there is a visual translator app that I can use that allows me to hover my phone over the document and it instantly translates the language to English. This helped me greatly as I usually use google translate on the internet to do this and I have to type in the text to get the translation. I had just received a German document on a machine that we have and I needed to order parts for and it was entirely in German. I thought it was Christmas that someone had created this app that I don't know about. I was able to easily translate this document instantly.
Anyway, the reason that I brought this up is that while going through my PM's and reading through posts, While I was highlighting text to copy and paste on Google translate I saw an option in the menu that had never been there before. This extra option said, "translate". I clicked this and a little window popped up and translated the text for me! I had no idea about this translator app that is now installed on my phone.
I just wanted to share this with others and I hope that this helps ease the frustration of translating other languages while using the forums.
Just type, "Visual Translator" into Google or the Google play store and select any of the apps there.
I chose the Google app as I love google and all their associated products and because it got the editors choice. Thank you Google. There's an app for that!
