More and more temples of the gods were abandoned, because nobody needed them anymore. Too soon, people forgot about them and history turned into tales and poems.

There remain some in this age who do still whisper about the gods. They sense there is more to those tales and poems than most believe and study them looking for the truth. As the darkness grows they have taken to lighting trees throughout the world as a symbol of the gods of light still shining in the darkness.

During the commemoration of creation colored lights are hung on the trees. These lights represent God TRANN hitting the nothingness with his hammer and the sparks of creation that became the stars in the sky.

During the remainder of the year white lights were kept. In addition to being a symbol of the gods of light they are beacons for travelers making their way through the night.

I believe that keeping lit trees would be much appreciated in the darkness of night.

It is good to have light.

Ascanius in his quest to find the Silver Sword knows how short the time is and if he fail the darkness will move unbridled throughout the realm and hope will be no more. To forestall this a pervasive spell is cast that during the darkest part of time when evil plans and becomes bold lights appear in the realm. The light they cast confuses and delays evils encroachment and gives hope to the weary wanderers of this Forgotten realm. It is a beacon now and a portent of a future to come where light once again is in control and the days of dread are banished.

For most of the year, trees could be single coloured and multi coloured for the festive period.

And it not an entirely impossible task.... after all fireflies do it.

TRANN had them inject their glow into the trees.

Or just keep it lit up like it used to be.aaaah the good ole days when we could see.

I changed my mind about light trees

Not sure I was playing at this time ... but maybe coloured during Christmas and on valentine's date white, red and pink. The other days of the red year: white.
