Having a rock for a house does not automatically give you a bonus to your mining skill. What you could do though is stand at your rock/house and mine while you are using your house.

Just the opposite both of my houses are rocks, and every time I "enter" my house I mine.
I have more meteor stones and soul stones than I can count. Well, OK I can count them and my mining xp is now at 12
The craft also reaches 2 or 3k levels ???

Which is do-do when you think my craft Affinity is 0.75 and my success rate for Mith Tools that I use to make and "give away" is still only at 28% success rate.

I only have a craft level of 7, but I have an easy time crafting platinum ingots!
Maybe it has to do with the neat house in the bottom right corner that glows in the dark!

I think that at a 7 craft mith tools are 41% for me.
