I did all his missions a long time ago, and now, every time I click the blacksmith, he says, "Tell me if you have anything to forge and I'll help you" or something.
Do you know if it forges something?
That blacksmith was really just an npc without much else. You bring the meteor ingots and get the tools you need but there isn't anything else that is done there.
Maybe later someone uses that for something, but nothing right now.

I believe improving 1k armor is all about luck
