PC Version won't reopen

I can start FT on PC ok by running start.bat now. If I close and open it later, it won't restart and hangs. I have to restart windows to get it to come back. Am I doing something wrong? Or is this a bug? It's a Windows 10 machine. Thanks for any help.
Sorry, more details: I get an all black screen the second time, and when I try to close the window, it says Not Responding, then tells me that Java SE Binary is not responding. This is FT version 8.7.8.
