What is the best pet that I can buy for my level? I am level 29.

Don't quote me but... Lol. I do believe it is current.

Level 29 won't give you much for useful pets as far as helping with grinding. You may as well hit 30 and get shop pets at that point.

And your little Ice Cubes (Ice Monsters) will not last long either.
Be sure to park them out of harms way when grinding.

At 40 you can get 2 Grey Troll OR 1 and a War Dog
At 50 you can put your War Dog with the Pet Companion, after doing his quest, and go get a second War Dog.

Pets are a personal choice and style.
In my day it was recommended to wait to level 136 to get "Staff Stans", a ranged pet, and then fight Blue Vlads until I could buy "Fairies" However since then new pets have come into the game.

Today I have a couple of alts just over level 125 the level one can buy "Green Spiders" at the pet shop and they work well with small spawns and a little wait to heal if necessary for a ranged character. You can try those when you get to 125 I do use them as pets for a few storage alts that I keep in safer areas of the game.

Take a look at Syor's Monster List it is slightly outdated but most improvements since then are at a higher level. Iy is colour coded to show: Monster Only, Monsters and Pets, Pets Only

There is a $$ pets at level 40: The Ghost of Ryaca - ranged and does nice damage but be warned they do not have a lot of armour so you will need to tank for them and let their 'ranged attack' kill what is attacking you. I enjoyed them on a couple of alts though.
