it makes no different if you kill a snow dragon or any other monster with or without pets....a kill of any monster increases your experiences . Only the Kill with pets does not counts on some quests. On quests like "you killed xxx monster".

I had that too once and wondered why i not come level up
stayed many hours on killing monsters.

After a restart of that game it worked again.

If it wont work after a reststart post that problem in the Bug-Section with 2 or 3 different pictures. Before killing+after killing. a time stamp with typing "/info" would help too.
