Forgotten Tales

So I'm pretty sure I have tried every switch combination and spend at least 50 speed potions running to all 4 corners of the plasma mine, and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. The teleporter takes me to the same room with the plasma rocks, and none of the switch combos seem to unlock the pillars blocking the chest in the lower right of the mine, so all I've done is kill a bunch of plasma mobs and run around in a lot of circles. Help?

I didn't throw any switches....just toggle back and forth through the portal until it drops you where chest is for the key.

I've gone through the portal maybe 50 times, and it always sends me to the room with the green floor and rocks I can mine. Is it supposed to send me to different places?

That's how I got there did the portal in upper right area over and over until to chest room. In fact I went too fast and toggled right past it! If the switches were in a certain position when I tried it I don't know, I guess it's possible they were preset...maybe someone else knows authoritatively.
