new release not working on pc

Hi
Have downloaded ft9 (windows version), but when i click on start wont run, immediately stops. Could this be a problem with AVG. Any advice appreciated

What java version do you have installed on your computer?

Not sure but I can check and make sure I have latest version

Have downloaded latest java release version 8, 491 but still no joy.
tried disabling avg to, Is anyone else having similar problems?

java 8 is very old version released 12 years ago. Current version is 26. Please try newer version.

thank you so much for your feedback, no idea why i was getting directed to java8, Have d/l java 26 as per your advice now all is working. Thanks again for being so helpful
