Improve: Healing Spell

As you all know, when 3+ players are around, the healing spell is pretty much utterly void of any use in comparison to the amount of mana you must use. I have a suggestion to improve it:
Make the heal spell, by default, a self-healing skill. (is this possible, with keeping the same range: 8?)
Incorporate a new button, something like a 'friendly' targeting option.
Here you could select the individual with 'blue' cross-hairs, and the heal would be directed at that particular person and yourself. I'm not sure how hard it would be though to make healing a self-targeting skill, while also having a 'range' to select and heal players from a distance.

yes...a GREAT idea. but take into account that they may be running round.if.their health is low.....which would make tar getting a nightmare......so I suggest add two heal buttons....one for self and one for other people....the one for other people you press it first then press.on them once...problem solved. maybe also add 'long press' to heal everyone
would also need to make extra potion buttons as sometimes there is competition between the spells and the potions.....which means u can't access them all to press when u need one because u have too many spells so can't use pots or vice versa

this doesn't exactly do what you want, but if you unequip your staff, you have no range, so you only heal yourself and people you're touching
btw, I totally agree with you here

hmm.....I didn't know that......interesting.
perhaps it may be easier to.make a 'temporarily unequip staff then heal quickly then re equip staff' button

Yes, easier, but unnecessary when it could simply become a game mechanic. I shouldn't have to unequip items just to focus the heal spell on myself or player(s), that's cookie-cutter coding. I think this is an easy addition to the game that would change the aspect of PvM/PvP.

I have no idea what cookie cutter coding means........
I'm gonna look it up

yes yes...I understand now....it basicly means copying and pasting with minor changes.......still....considering the amount of work that already needs doing. if it works it works imho. it would certainly be nice to get a self heal. and a targeted heal spell.....
I haven't the first clue about coding personally....complicated job......not my cuppa tea.
I honestly can't imagine how difficult it actually is coding for anything more complicated then a text colour change.
whoever the coders are for this game...they're good at what they do.

yeah, he's good for sure.. tons of work and I think he does all the coding himself O.o
I like the idea of having options for each skill available on the inventory screen.. for example, you click heal spell and have option of "self, target, all" where it would be just self, targeted player, or all in range... or archer 30% attack would have option of "highest HP, lowest HP, target" where it auto target enemy with highest or lowest HP or stick with targeted enemy until dead...

Sorry if my comment came off as insulting, it wasn't aimed at anyone.
I meant metaphorically, it would be wise, as a coder, to instead implement a button that would change the game dynamics vastly in PvP/PvM and Events, instead of just say;
an 'unequip staff/re-equip staff' button

yes...my suggestion wouldn't even come close to.cutting it..mainly because.it doesn't.target heal.
it would be a temporary solution until there's enough time to go over it properly...
