Melee characters
fastest speed have two spells which they can use back to back leap and stun
Archers
have a bit more speed then mages but less then melee characters but highest range
Mages
stay the strongest but have the shorter range then archers
I feel like that would make pvp between all characters equal what do u guys think??

I like the way you think here. This is the first game I have EVER played where the melee characters were the slowest.
IMO melees should be the fastest, because they are the strongest physique of all classes. I agree here.
Archers could be faster than melee, IF they wore little armor. In this game, they wear the same, so they should be slower too. Also, using a bow and arrow with heavy armor on should slow their rate of fire.
Mages should be the slowest, I agree. They spent all their time learning magic, not training to run like other classes. Typically mages are frail in body yet strong in mind. Thus they cannot carry heavy items nor run quickly.
I do admire how FT is unique in its own ways, but I always have disagreed with these points. I really like the way you think here, and it could possibly level the field if implemented properly. However, it could also just reverse the roles and make melee the most powerful if not done properly.

I like these (and several other) ideas to help with melee engaging in PvP

-- Keep in mind though, unless high level mages are nerfed, or (much better) other classes are given MUCH better skills (or maybe allowed to use them individually, back to back) the high level mage will destroy anybody else whether he can engage or not

Melee has best defense just only needs 3 range for attack and a special ability to toss either freeze sword or fire.when paired with speed pots melee can git with 3 range regular atks.

I just feel bad for melee characters cause they honestly have no chance against ranges characters, they should also have a higher hit rate

Any warrior, archer or melee, wearing heavy armor should be slower than a mage. Wearing a light armor, faster. Light armored archers being faster than melee classes. Heavy armored archers being slower than melee.
Or, to be simple, slowest to fastest
Heavy archer, heavy melee, mage, light melee, light archer.
A light armor should have no more than half the arm rating than a comparable level heavy armor.
If an archer chooses to wear heavy armor they should get an attack speed and dex penalty. They should be subject to being interrupted if hit while shooting.
Mages are overpowered. Proof is in the PvP reduction. They should have their attack power cut in half all the time. Leave their healing and shield spells as is. Their attack speed should also be severely reduced. It should take time to cast a spell. Also they should be subject to being interrupted if hit during casting.
These changes would limit archers and mages from tanking and fill the roles of ranged, support characters. Heavy armored melee characters would gain value to groups. Toe to toe they would be very dangerous. Pvp would be equalled out some. Mages with time and distance could still have a devastating attack. Lightly armored Archers could outrun, maneuver other classes. They still would have a fast, powerful attack. This encourages working in a group for those difficult spawns.

I would never engage my mage against a lvl 1000 arch for mage has weak arm and when mana runs out archer still has same range in power.plus heal spell is cut in half.we just gotta change melee for now and see what feed back we get from pple.then if, change how mages are built.thats why i propose range skill atk and 3 on range for melle and combine with speed pots they will be dangerous.

Maybe true. But most players don't have lvl 1000+. I can't speak intelligently about such leveled characters.
Most are between 50 and 300. Personally, I started with a melee class but have only advanced my archer because the system favors them. Mages too. It really bothers me to have a ranged class surrounded, fighting with near impunity. Mages and archers should be penalized in those situations. Fixing the melee class includes revamping the ranged classes. Otherwise there isn't a need for the melee class.

Wow, you guys touched on a lot of things here.. since this is getting attention again, I'll repost some thoughts:
IMO, best case for speed is that base speed for all classes is 9, except mages=8 because they are physically inferior. All light armor would include a -1 speed, heavy armor would include -2 speed. More complex ideas could be even better of course (adding speed for str&dex, carrying weight, etc..) but not really worth talking about I think.
The current formulas for mages leave them weak (and hardest to grind) at low levels, but overpowered at high levels. This is pretty fitting with how the class usually works, but obviously in an mmorpg equality would be best... I would still love looking into the idea of changing flow spell to 1x damage instead of 2.5, but reducing mana cost (and slightly increasing regen rate) ... I think we should not reduce cast rate, because the idea is that the mage can do a lot of damage quickly, but is vulnerable to anybody still standing. Also, I think mana should not regenerate during PvP; and if the damage formula was redone, then mana from gear would count towards spells.
I only addressed two issues here... I'm not forgetting others, just sharing thoughts on a couple you guys were talking about. I'm happy this conversation is going again

mana should not regen in pvp only if a mage initiates the attack
