Where found soldier in the game ?

On map -1.-1 -- near the mage's first shop/temple.
The Knight is standing outside a castle.

*DO NOT speak with him unless you have 1,000 gold!

You can swap out the knight for a mage after completing the red/blue bracelet quest. After completing, the mage is located at the crossroads heading toward the Bandit's tower.

of course you cant have both the mage and knight. Yet there are videos posted on youtube that I've made a year ago that you may use as references.
