Actually my account did indeed get hacked, my password was never shared with any player. Fortunately I was able to recover my account.

to clarify: almost none got cracked. but many shared the password. in a sort, it is cracking by social engineering. but i would call it "not clever" instead

All rough definitions.
HACKING
use a computer to gain unauthorized access to data in a system.
"they hacked into a bank's computer"
gain unauthorized access to (data in a computer).
"hacking private information from computers"
CRACKING
The process of attempting to guess or crack passwords to gain access to a computer system or network. Crackers will generally use a variety of tools, scripts, or software to crack a system password. The goal of the cracker is to ideally obtain the password for root (UNIX) or system and administrator (Windows, NT). Password cracks work by comparing every encrypted dictionary word against the entries in system password file until a match is found.
SOCIAL ENGINEERING
Social engineering is a non-technical method of intrusion hackers use that relies heavily on human interaction and often involves tricking people into breaking normal security procedures. It is one of the greatest threats that organizations today encounter.
