Sandbox maps version 2

Post by compbatant » Mon Oct 28, 2019 9:06 pm

I improved creating own maps using built in map editor.
To create your own map you need to be at starting map which is map 0.0 and have level at least 50. I added these conditions to prevent abuses.
Enter in chat window this command to create your own map:

Code: Select all

 /map create
This will create map with standard size 10x10 .
To create with custom size use:

Code: Select all

/map create 3.3
Map can't be bigger than 10x10.
Now you can go to your map using command:

Code: Select all

 /map go
To go back to map 0.0 use the same command.
To start editing map use this:

Code: Select all

/e
or press tabulator key if you are using PC client.
You can have up to 3 own maps.
To go to particular map use:

Code: Select all

/map go 1
/map go 2
/map go 3
To delete map you need be on that map and then type:

Code: Select all

/map delete
You can give access to your map to other players. To do this go to your map and type:

Code: Select all

/map grant player_name
To remove access type:

Code: Select all

/map revoke player_name
Other player can enter your map by typing (on start map):

Code: Select all

/map go player_name
or

Code: Select all

/map go player_name map_number(1,2 or3)
With the new mechanism where maps are loaded if somebody enters it we have many maps without affecting server performance so I think
it would be nice to add interior maps for all game shops. What do you think? You can work on such maps and send me PM and I will choose
the best and add them to the game. I am thinking also about individual maps for private houses.

The improvements sounds very nice.

I think it sounds like a good idea for having interior shop maps, if only to about the congestion around some of them. Presumably an open interior would allow more room.

Could this be done for the bank as well? That is a busy location and at times it has been necessary to wait on others to get out of the way. Possibly some stipulation that the interior have at least 2+ access points for storage which would theoretically at least double the number of users that can use at a time.

I don't believe the existence of an interior structure should affect where PvP can/cannot be initiated though as there should not be situations where someone could get attacked walking out the door. Not that this was even mentioned, but just putting out my thoughts.

For houses were you thinking of a small generic map or allowing customization?

VERY NICE!!!!!
KUDOS.

I was thinking of interior shops a while ago very similar to the one on the NE corner of Map 1.3, where we meet Kromelg.

Longer counter with 2 or 3 NPC attending.

Custom Houses. Nice.

That was my thought as well for a default kind of shop, but then remembered that the shops in Ardesia are also internal maps.

As I read it each shop can have unique maps. That could be neat. Do we see a difference between the two waepon/armor shops in Silverwood? Find out they are actually the same shop joined together like in Ardesia? See that the wagon shop has an extravagant interior? And so on...

My house is built on top of a wide variety of different ores. Very odd, but I had the scientist and even the cartographer come and look when I was picking a house. :D

Ok, so there may be a limit on how full the customization can be...

Except the platinum. My house in game really is built on top of that. ;)
