Extra backpacks
I understand what people are saying about not wanting players to carry an insane amount of siege material by having lots of extra backpacks.
However that doesn't solve the problem for those of us who need the storage space but don't want pets at all because they are so vulnerable or inconvenient.
Some suggestions:
1) a new pet which is basically a magic cart that follows the player (and can be parked as usual) and has 20 storage slots.
This pet does zero (yes 0) damage, has a ridiculous number of hit points, and is ignored by monsters.
It cannot therefore be used to grind or tank.
A player can obtain one of these from a shop.
2) Safe zones in dungeons (usually centred on the entry points to each level) where PvP is not allowed and monsters cannot come.
3) Storage gear (Extra backpacks) are not limited to one per player. Or create a different item (e.g. bag of holding) that has 20 slots.

I'd prefer the extra bag of holding tbh.

Re: Extra backpacks
I saw an acct with a pet like that one time. Hobbs was picking at me by putting animals such as rabbits and mice as pets on me. They gave a backpack, but did not engage in combat, nor were they targeted by monsters. If these could be made purchasable on pets menu, they could give exactly what players want. Some testing might be needed first, but I think it could be feasible.

I'd also add a 4th, very crazy idea: a new pet that has 30 slots, can't fight, and has really high hit points. However, purchasing this pet from a shop negates a player's ability from having a 2nd pet (unless dropped).
I agree with Arashiko: I don't like pets for the same reasons, but given the option, I'd sacrifice 1 pet for 10 more slots (it fits my style of play better).

The SPCA may object to the sacrifice of pets...

I'd buy a pet that acted as a cart only if it was ignored by monsters +1

I hate pets... get rid of them
Storage space maximum is already too much IMO.
Pets that cannot die from mobs may be tempting, but I don't think a good idea. It would make PvP much longer and less tactiful.
It could be beneficial for PvM (which I prefer), but in PvP it would certainly be abused.

Re: Extra backpacks
Backpack space is already abused in pvp. Some players even illegally stock more items than they have space for to gain an edge. This idea wouldn't really affect pvp at all.
