Downgrade Gear
Since quests and crafting only accept standard non-plus variants, it would be nice to have the ability to downgrade a +1/+2 variant. I realize most players may find this counterintuitive, but I'd be willing to pay a small gold price. For all you quest writers, maybe this can be a new quest - complete it and the NPC can then downgrade a +1/+2 item to its base version.
This will make future crafting items and quests (which need non-plus gear) a little easier to complete.

Re: Downgrade Gear
It is very annoying when i spend time to grind an item for a quest and it gives me a +.
It's dumb that having a + disqualifies the item from being able to be used

Re: Downgrade Gear
So grind more until you get "item+0" ... grinding is a part of the game.
Same as crafting ever try making a Diamond Sword+1 or +2.
It would be easier to find chickens teeth.
I know one gamer that crafted forever spending B's trying to get a +2, never did. Made a few +1's though
... you used one of those for a while that he was selling for 1b.
OR: Have NPC's that will upgrade any item to a +1 (X gold) or +2 (XX gold) as well.

Code: Select all
Craft: 80%: 5xDiamond(267),2xSteel Ingot(268),1xFragarachS(228)

Re: Downgrade Gear
Folks, comments are welcome, but let's stay on topic. The suggestion is the ability to downgrade a + item ... not the difficulties in grinding or crafting a + item

Re: Downgrade Gear
My apologies.
Then I disagree.
items+0 are available in the game.

Re: Downgrade Gear
your opinion is valid, LK.
my point is that quests and crafting require +0 items. so, if I have a + item, it would be nice to have an option to downgrade it so I can use it for crafting and/or a quest.
more I think about it, no reason to create a quest to gain this ability. Instead, how about adding 2 new "craft" options to any structure that allows crafting:
+1 to +0 : +1 item, 15 gold ingots, 5 steel ingots
+2 to +0 : +2 item, 30 gold ingots, 10 steel ingots
I purposely selected common craft materials. No player really should get penalized for wanting a "less powerful" item!

Re: Downgrade Gear
Alternatively alter the quest to accept a +1 or +2 item in lieu of the missing +0 item.
Re: Downgrade Gear
if this were implemented, no reason not to make the same change to allow + gear as a craft material
