Wasting GMs' time

Post by Leone »

We have less than 10 GMs and we have many thousand players.

Some are alts. Some are not active, but there is an imbalance.

GMs are volunteers. They are GMs because they love this game - probably some days less than others.

If you've been paying attention to the forum then you'll have an idea of how many messages that GMs have to respond to. That in itself is no problem.

My suggestion:

1 All messages to GMs go to the gm inbox. I believe that s already in place.

2 every Sunday(?) GMs advise us how many reports they have had. No details.

It may just help us to understand why GMs don't respond within 5 minutes.

3. Ideally IMO. GMs publish how many requests or complaints are false out of that weekly total. That s a waste of GM time and genuine player time.

Not a very good ratio at all

Agreed here.
GMs are volunteers.¹ They are GMs because they love this game² - probably some days less than others.³
1 - Yes - Thank you to all of you!
2 - That's a given. They gave up playing for the most part to look after the game. KUDOS to all GM's!
3 - I would take "probably" out of there, I'd bet on it!

As for the rest, I think it would add to their work load. Although, I agree, if would be nice to see even if they only did it for a month ... It's only for an idea of their workload anyway.

Nice idea Leone

While asking them to publish the info may seem like increasing workload, it might also be a passive way to vent all the frustration regarding the reports. I kinda like the idea, but then again, I wouldn't be the one dealing with it, either.

Ok, I have one for ya.
Just finished my paperwork on it.
Before that, enough players saw me around to know what I was doing, for a couple hours.
Just finished jailing 64 accounts, simply for bad names. Fun stuff, that.

Tnx mad. That's exactly what I am requesting: the amount of time a GM can spend dealing with GM stuff vs the sheer amount of gm requests
