I'll go through your formulas in more detail tomorrow, but one problem I see is that if you make them the same, mage will be way, way underpowered because everybody does same damage while mage has fewest hp... I think the goal shouldn't be to make them the same, just evened out.. , let mage do most damage (since they have lowest hp) just make sure "time to kill" (ttk) is same for any two classes fighting each other

for the record, what I mean by ttk is best explained with an example (fake numbers to demonstrate)

mage level 100 (normal stats) has 10,000 hp and does 2,500 damage per second. a swordsman level 100 has 25,000 hp and does 1,000 dps... fighting each other, they should both kill in about 10 seconds (taking gear into account on all this.... and again, these are fake numbers, but the ones I tested on paper at level 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2500, and 5000 were real numbers) ... also note the big problem with the numbers above are the very short time in mage vs. mage (solved in part with the 50%reduction suggestion) and the very long time for nonmage vs. nonmage (solved by increased damage, which is not represented in above numbers)

Ive thought that over too but dont forget a mage has an advantage no other class has. The heal spell thats why I asked what your input was on switching from one spell to another. Now picture this If a level 400 mage with 250 arm and 748 mana he has 31k hp vs a level 400 archer with 375 arm and 640 str has 74k hp and 538 stamina. The mage has just as much odds as the archer if not better because if the mage only heals and slows and dances with the archer when the archer activates the double shot skill the mage will still have the chance to stay out of range untill the skill is no longer active then he can make his attacks. If he is stunned he can still stand there and heal then dance some more when the stun skill is over. If the archer playes it smart he will make the fight last to drain the mages mana and hold off on skills untill the mage is at a low piont in his hp thinking the archer has low str. With this addition it mostly depends on how well the player is at pvp and the stats they have set.

OK, have a good trip :)

about the heal spell, you'll notice I've recommended that it heals 1/3 the amount that flow spell spell would damage... this would put it below what an equal level non-mage can do in dps, so the mage can no longer just stand there and out heal... it's still a valuable spell, but doesn't throw off pvp balance ;)

I like that idea. So basically in order for a mage to refill his/her hp they would have to flee from the enemy and tap the heal spell and the time it takes to fully heal mostly depends on how much hp you have. The lower hp the faster you can restore to full. Witch that part is similar to the way it is now except the amount per cast is lower. Sounds good. Let's give this idea enough time to be seen by most players before it takes action just incase there are som major disagreements. :-)

I have not gotten any suggestions on what we came up with so I take it those who have read it are good with what we have worked up. Should we start processing the new formula's and additional attack methods to get this ready to average out the pvp balance?
