I suppose maybe the main point was the difficulty of the mob, and that it dropped Steel Bow at all, even if it was '100%'. The level you're at to fight them even 1 at a time by luring to a non-spawn square makes steel bow a joke that I wouldn't even pick up if they dropped 100%. Maybe that was a typo on the Mob's programing lines and it was meant to be Crystal Bow, or Fire-CrossBow?
Personally I'm trying for swamp bow at Hutress. I have 2set of Blitzboots and 170Dex so with her lower Armor, she's easier to kill faster. earned almost 3 levels (138-140) or 120M xp (or 240 kills)...and no drops. I did luck-out at ClubStan and get a Mithril club in my first 200, so....I guess I will need to kill almost 1800 huntress to get a swamp bow
it's not a mistake, just a small token to keep you interested as you grind... and a few gold pieces when you sell them all off (I'm sure I had enough to build a bridge, sadly, I couldn't craft it lol)

I hope you mean Diamond Bow?
I was trying Huntress around Lvl 138 for a swamp bow, but at 500k xp each and only 1/1000 drop, suddenly I was level 147...and realized that in 3 levels I could actually use Diamond Bow.....so I moved to Ghost Archers which drop 1/500 Swamp and 1/1000 Diamond. "Statistically" that means you're going to get at least a 100th level weapon every 333 kills. ...In theory, since now I'm 150th and nothing but 10 Steel Bows to show for my efforts . So I spent last night mining and walking the map to upgrade to Gold Plate; Iron Sword; and Damage Club...now back at Ghost Archer plains and killing them 1 and 2 at a time. Blahh....Almost throw up when I see steel bow

oopss i was too tired.. yes i meant diamond bow. I was about lvl 180 and looking for 2 swamp bows 1 for me 1 for fire archer to get his trust and i killed many i can counting. No swamp but diamond..better for me. Now i m lvl 185 and pumping dex i can kill 3 ghost in the time i killed 1 before. Btw if coul help i got diamond bow from archers near the guy i gave the stolen book, the normal not the creepy
