It would lead to house owners bearing the brunt of even more spam requests for one thing. Plus, my view is that if someone wants to enjoy the benefits of owning a house then they should buy their own.

The thing is, $50 and change for a house in a game is a huge outlay for some people.

I would rather houses were available for some suitably large amount of in-game gold (e.g. 100 million).

I agree it's a lot of money but there could be an alternative idea. People buy lvls and they also buy the extra backpack storage, so they able to spend real money but possibly not the $50 or so as you suggest.

My suggestion is that players are able to purchase( for real money) more storage at the bank or Inn. The price is exactly the same as for the extra backpack space.

You'll notice other posts saying gold has lost its value. 100m or even 1b gp is nothing like $50. I'm afraid I don't agree that houses should be purchased with gold.

I like that. Or a pet with low damage, very high dex and armour, and silly high HP (100k), which has significantly more storage than other pets (e.g. Double or triple). A chest on four legs....
