Blitzcraig, I wonder how you run the tests of mage vs archer. Are you actually having two chars fight in FT, or do you have some tool to simulate these combats?

Such a tool would be very useful to test new ideas, like those you and Joeylamcy brought up. If there is not yet a modelling program for this, I would gladly try writing some simple script for simulating pvp combats. I imagine something that calculates only with two characters standing in front of eachother, and fighting to death. It's a bit too simplistic, but not too complicated. It might help to take steps toward better class balancing.

that would be a great tool... I'm literally using paper, a pen, and a lot of basic math :P

all melee having double attack/damage I like a lot (but it won't solve thIs issue)... don't really like having to depend on gear to balance.. first, if you lose gear, you're dead, second, you would need a ridiculously high amount of your character to be the gear :( .. mages doing less healing won't help either, because they are winning without healing at all anyway

There are two things that seem absolutely vital for this game. Firstly, the class balance issue. Ranged characters have an overwhelmingly unfair advantage in PvP over melee characters - so much so that a level 1 archer could use hit and run tactics to kill a level 100+ melee character. Yes, it would take an absolute age - but it could happen.

So many solutions to this issue have been posted by so many people (myself included - and this time I'm not going to bother btw) but we don't seem to get any acknowledgement for these ideas.

Secondly - as Magix says - we need more maps, more items, more weapons and generally more variety in the game.

With this in mind, I (and perhaps some others)would be grateful if creator or a senior mod could post the updates they have planned for the near future and ideas they have for the longer term. Thank you.

Exactly Leone. The games issues are not getting resolved. "Suggestions and new ideas" is a pointless topic............

I agree as well (though like I explained earlier, it was probably a good long-term move to do graphics update now instead of later)... anyway, back to the point. the mods and admins are currently working on a single thread addressing the most pressing game issues (because like you said, a lot has been buried in other threads, it's much easier to just see it all together and compare priority levels) ... there are many ideas on the list, with only two currently marked as "urgent"... PVP and MORE CONTENT. hopefully we'll be finishing our draft of that list today or tomorrow and submitting it here in forum for everybody to look at, give input, finalize, and submit to creator to let him know what we all think. :)

you asked what was coming up as well.. I don't know all of it, but I'll share what I know. I know the next part of the storyline quest is coming sometime (that's really all I know about that... I have nothing to do with creating it :( )
I also know I submitted map 0.-3 and -1.-3 along with three dungeon/cave maps for those. also adding eight new enemies there (four you've seen at spawn parties, six totally new) there are a few new items there, more crafting (100% success rate) and some new quests (and areas for additional quests which have not been written yet) I also submitted the "colosseum" map for pvp battles and games. obviously, we'll have to see what the creator does with all this stuff, but my hopes are high. I'm sure there's more going on and planned, but that's all I know of for sure ;)

What we all think is this game is heading no where. It probably wouldn't even take a day to actually come to an agreement onPvP solution. To be fair. What is actually going on...... This game will be in the same state in 3 years to come lol. Does the creator only work on this game when his wallet is getting slim or something lol.

mike, you've had a lot of good input... this is not amongst it. you may want to consider deleting this post because it does not shine a good light upon you (IMO) .. seriously, no offense is intended here btw

Thanks Blitz. I know you originally raised the class balance issue ages ago and hope you're pushing this to be resolved quickly. For me personally, if that was sorted out fairly then I'd enjoy the game much more.

yeah, you know where my heart for the game is :) ... TBH, I thought the issue was pretty close to resolved (except for the obvious, huge issue of melee vs. ranged) until Mike showed me how wrong I was about High level mages... live and learn I guess ;)
