Re: NOT A PENNY PETITION LIST
Both sides have good points.
Gandalf. Its not that players dont value the time GM's put in. Or the time staff put in. We understand that you sacrifice being a regular player to do all this. That people are thankful for.
However. Now not being a regular player and being partly in control of updates etc. Puts all mods and all staff a little out of sync with how the game is. Thats part of being admins. Staff, devs, mods. Its just what happens if you cant regularly play.
You see a lot of whiners. Criers, makes it hard to seperate valid points from no so valid ones. Theres no need to defend yourself or the mod team, at the same time theres no need to have a go at Cleo either.
If anything shes now recently been on both sides of the playing field. A post like this and others that follow should be looked at with a magnifying glass. Because these issues havent gone away.
Here is why. As i see it.
Players have made mention of pvp issues for over a year. Its ehoed, even by some staff/mods. Were assured something is going to be done. Were happy with that. But in the year only see maps added. Which are cool. Quests added. Which are also cool. Walking npc's, it adds life to the game and thats nice too. We however dont see one of the biggest things needed. Pvp changes. Like what the majority of the servers asked for. With valid points as to why its needed.
We receive a clan system that should've come through with an alliance system. Or held off implimenting until an alliance system was made. Were assured in september somethings going to be done about pvp. Again we see more maps etc made. Along with "smaller buildings". Which has been taken advantage of by some.
Something a bit broken shouldnt then be polished. Maybe after its been fixed quite a bit then yes polish it.
Look at the list provided. They are all your main level buyers. Even some that dont entirely agree with each other on everything. Yet their setting the forums alight together.
This isnt some "were crying and drawing a line in the dirt and demand changes" these are people who genuinely believe either 1) theres a good degree of powerlessness going round. 2) Money indeed wasted because theres little faith in what the next updates and promised update in september will do and 3) despite all the back and forth talks over the last year or so, continually see other things implimented and one of the major things that needs to be fixed swept under the rug again.
It may not be the case. The staff might have frequent discussions on pvp etc. We wouldnt know. We actually dont know what goes on until it gets implimented. Not trialed. But implimented. This gives us the illusion that 1) nothing is really happening. And 2) Despite what we say, you'l all still fo your own thing.
Add my name to the list.
Post your priorities list. Put a poll on. Have people state why they believe certain priorities on this list should be 1st 2nd 3rd etc and be more transparent with what could possibly happen and whats been looked at.
All of this couldve been avoided easily.

Re: NOT A PENNY PETITION LIST
Another example of a pointless update.... now all players can share their account as much as I want without fear of ever losin it because they can restore there password thew email. Many clan will all share there PW with clan members and stay on game 24/7
There are certain people who abuse the game quite often (there is no need for me to point fingers) this update was made to benefit them.

Re: NOT A PENNY PETITION LIST
Cleo, you are right that we can't fix the game we dont play. But is it our job? We have another task - we watch rulebreakers and if game works fine(server crash and so).
Sure we can't know about bugs in clan section - we do not join them with regular chars and don't build as GMs. But we have players who can report it.
We also have suggestions and bugs forums, we read all the suggestions... But you know it takes time to add new features to game.
Also, if it is a petition - it would be nice to make a list of things which you want to see. I like the idea when players make a group and ask for fixes together, but that your first post isn't polite to us - you know how we work.

Re: NOT A PENNY PETITION LIST
To a degree insiders. It is your job. Not yours specifically but a collective effort.
You do know about clans. To an extent. The problem with this limited ability to be involved in clans is one of the reasons why issues happen. You have to then only rely on good faith of players or somehow figure out whats going wrong.
Eitherway you dont win. Because of the situation you are in. Im glad theres watchers for rule breakers. But thats an entirely different subject that im sure the flames of hell is willing to engulf another time.
The suggestions and bugs forum is used a lot. It doesnt matter if you read it or not. Whether we know that or not. From a players point of view we know its been read. But as for knowing if/when anything will be done about it if its valid. A lot will point to the pvp examples thats at least a year overdue. Understand morale is low.
Theres no single reason as to why morales low. But now its a trial time for both staff and mods. Because its how you all now deal with the incidents infront of you stemming from this and other pent up issues that will define the faith had in the mods/staff. Whether it be renewed or lowered.
Theres a lot of suggestions and bug reports already. Even regoing through the countless pages of them may help. Theres a common trend there.
Its also not a hard thing to do. Ive read every single post this forums had at least 2 or 3 times now. I havent done it recently because i havent been around. But its doable and takes maybe an hour at most.

@Asmodeous, i mean that we can't fix PvP problems and so. We don't develop game, we don't programm. We watch the game. The only developer is compbatant.

Re: NOT A PENNY PETITION LIST
Neat. So going off that. Weve all conveniently washed our hands of any and all responsibility.
I cant fix pvp problems. Neither can anyone else except a dev. Lets twiddle our thumbs then?
Excuse the sarcasm. But the point is. We cant do anything physically, i get that. What we can do is make it an ever present noise "we need to do something about X issue... we really need to make this a priority.."
"Weve been running numbers and ideas... players have put forth ideas... X idea isnt too great.. Y idea is. Should we take initive and see what we could do with it and if its a dead end, find something else? Sure lets do it"
I spent time and effort with another running forumlas. We actually got an archer on par with a mage (devestating i know). If we wipe our hands clean of not being able to do a thing and then express this. Then we'l plumet further than we are now.

THIS IS THE POINT. IT SHOULD NOT BE VOLUNTEERS JOBS TO FIX BUGS CAUSED BY UPDATE FROM.WHAT IS NOW A COMMERCIAL PRODUCT.
by allowing and encouraging buying in high volumes creator is now required BY LAW to provide certain guarantees and professional infrastructure.
its no longer a hobby. its a commercial product and consumer protection laws need to be observed.
gm is getting shouted at and flamed.but we realy are blaming the creator here. but he hardly ever answers.
gm is the creators press agency.so they seem to get the questions and blame.

Fyi: you all can help the game, just spend more time thinking about formulas which will satisfy all the classes and clans.compbatant wrote:
Instead of complaining please tell what exactly should be fixed and how. Share with us with magic solution for all problems. It is like everebody want to have peace in the world but nobody know how to to this.
If you tell how to fix all problems after everybody will be happy i am really glad to implement it as soon as possible. What formulas, what mechanics do we need? Please consider all scenarios, all cases.
We all want the same: BETTER GAME!
