If they are following you around it is clearly intended spawnkilling or petkilling.
However, most people park tgeir pets at the stairs.

people lvling at that map can easily overspawn and if so usualy run for the stairs to escape. the effect is a load of monsters following to the stairs and killing the pets there.

I mine with my dwarf there as well using dog and bat as a pet. dog will die fast this way and bat usually too.

I now no longer park my pets at the stairs. instead i lead them very carefully to a spot wherectheres usualy no grinding. tank and kill monsters i accidently spawn going there. park pets there and go mining.

ps this only works if its reasonably quiet there

No they were not following me around they were there when I came in. And he didn't over spawn and leave, just moved up to the entrance and back down to where he was with a spawn following. His pets didn't move.

RE: Parking pets in another place - Good idea if it stays that way for the whole time you are there, good luck on that. I have a lost a few pets where the people spawn the spiders going in out out as well, They just will not stop the spawn to let people pass, and I use a joystick yo move as well, but if they get surrounded... if you stop to fight to free him you could well loose both.

Before I move on and fire up the game for a few minutes after breakfast and yet another trip to the dentist for another fitting I'd like to say this is one amazing game. For a while I thought something was not right, the Quests.PDF had nothing for me to do. Then I heard it was old and not updated. People were kind enough to point me in the right direction and every now and then there is someone to give a helping hand. So I have just finished the 250 Kraken Island quest and the Frost Cave... or maybe NOT!

In order to know what happens next, you need level 250, and have to meet The Rebel who is patroling in the Iceland [Q_ID 313]. He has news: Proditor is requesting your presence in his Tower.

The rebel I found in the south west quadrant of 1,-2 and the boy in the camp has no (?) over his head.

If you "have just finished the 250 Kraken Island quest" (quoting you), it is normal not having that log in your book, and it is ok that the forrester is not talking to you (umpolite perhaps, but ok)

Have u been to kraken island or not? This answers your question. If yes then ok. If u brought spectra wizard to proditor then i think u done.
But if u not done then try talk Nelrog at club stan map , In map of house of houses

I have done nothing with a Spertra Wizard. Nelrog = Club Stan, Houses of Houses map. Guy moves around ... on my way.

House of Houses is done WEISSTEN I have now idea. I forget things.

NOTE TO SELF:

Do not touch the south edge of the Houses Map (2,-3), game locks up and a log and come back and it starts you at Map 0,0.

One would expect if one walks "north" it would be OK. NOOOO!

Great found a guy (Nelrogg??) that says:

Do not be discouraged. You have done well. I'm sure Proditor and the rebels will find another way.

No new quest ... and he says don't be discouraged?

The Frost Cave had the portals fixed, been to the village houses and checked the chests, got the Mage's portal working, and the suspected thieves are welcome in the village.

Now I need two friends with lvl 250 to ??? to enter the part where 3 three must enter.

But Kraken Island - I'm not so sure about anymore. I have NONE of the quests mentioned in the walkthrough although I remember talking to Proditor on the top floor of the Tower.

Now go and talk with the rebel at ice cave map. He then advise to talk to proditor.
