frusterated players

many players get angry and frusterated at the GM team when we cannot arrive exactly when they want us to. many players also get angry and frusterated when they don't like the response they get from us whatever that may be.

i understand this. believe me i do. seeing a player that you believe to be cheating and not seeing them punished immediately is frustrating to the players and the gm team alike.

the problem is that we have a case load already. players are supposed to send ALL reports to the GM inbox. we cannot and should not drop other players cases and surpass all of those players that reported things the right way because certain players believe that they are more important than the rest of the players and want to bypass the gm inbox and communicate with GMs via facebook, instagram, snapchat, discord, etc.

please feel free to bypass the gm inbox if you want but i cannot promise you anything. sometimes we can arrive at requestsbut sometimes we cannot. it is not against any rules to do so. i will try to help if i can where i can and when i can. but my priority is the gm inbox.

we are not superheroes that can wave a magic wand and magically make everything better. investigations take time. if players get angry because of this truth then so be it. this will not change things and certainly will not make the gm team want to help them with their request any faster.

we get so many false accusations and false reports accusing players of cheating when actually they are not. this takes up much of our time

we must catch cheaters in the act. period. no exceptions.

we are busy. period.

investigations will take time and players are jailed every day. and for every player that is jailed eventually they must be released also. this also takes a lot of time and work. a lot.

it is what it is. your anger does not phase me at all. i am tough, i have thick skin, and gm hatred comes with the territory. players can be butthurt all that they want. it doesn't change things. at all. period.

i have included a couple of screenshots below further explaining a few points.

i can take your hate anger and frustration so feel free to send it all my way. i have dealt with it all my life. it does not phase me. please do not be angry with the other GMs. they work tirelessly and do an excellent job and ft wouldn't be the same without them. hate me.

we GMs will continue to help make ft a better place and sacrifice our personal lives because of this. we will continue to be volunteers. we knew this when we signed on. we accept this. we know what needs to be done and we know what we are doing. put your faith and trust in us or do not. accept us or do not. we will continue to log on every day regardless. we will continue to investigate reports whether players are happy or angry with us.

we are here. we have arrived. we are the gm team. period.

ryaca is pushing out a good point and a well thought out statement.
We request that reports are sent to the GM inbox so that a GM can read the reports and if it's a situation that can be handled quickly by which ever GM reads it the situation can be handled right away. If it's a more complicated situation that a GM might need assistance with it will be forwarded to another GM that can help.

As far as getting upset with the team it's uncalled for and will not help your situation get checked any sooner.

I have seen a few players say that a GM is not doing his/her job. This is not our job we are volunteers to help keep the game progresses and make sure no rules are broken.
This is hard work and it takes alot of time out of our personal lives just to help players move on in the game. It's challenging sacrificing and exhausting but we do it out of kindness and all we Ask in return if for kindness and for the rules to be followed.

We give so much and ask very little in return.

GM's have always been; Overworked, Underpaid ($0), Unappreciated (by many) and Though badly of (by many)

1. Overworked: most definitely - created by those that don't appreciate them, think badly of them and cheat and break rules.

2. Underpaid: they are all volunteers that gave up their game playing, or at best greatly reduced their game playing, in order to help people with problems by being overworked by - see 1.

3 & 4. - Unappreciated (by many) and Though badly of: Well, consider the source.

I said it before
I'll say it again
This knight appreciates the GM team
and the work they do.

Keep it going forward!

i completely agree with these statements. if it is a situation that can be handled quickly then the gm handling the case can make that decision at the time.

i want to clarify that players can attempt to contact us via mchat facebook pm etc but there is no guarantee that we will respond or help immediately. that is up to the gm that sees the request for gm assistance. if we don't show up it usually means that the situation is complicated and assistance and discussion with other staff members is required before action is taken.

there is no rule against trying to contact us in any other way besides the gm inbox route but we certainly need to handle each report in the order that they are received.

we will try to respond when we can using our personal judgement as to how each case should be handled.

I'd like add something here: the GMs were once 'normal players' themselves. They (I'm sure) very much appreciate some of the difficulties and frustrations that players face, as they have possibly (probably) been in the same situation previously.

Having said that, I think we players need to take some responsibility and ask ourselves questions before reporting to gm inbox:

Are we being entirely truthful? I wonder how much GM time is taken up with false claims.

How urgent is the report? Not everything requires dealing with immediately.

Do we really need to report this issue at all, or could we deal with it ourselves?
