My sword escapedcon has completed axe +4 quest in ardesia but is not showing the pickaxe quest. The npc is there but only says "come back later." Is there a bug that needs fixed?

As I messaged you in PM, it looks like you have some quest lines to complete before you can open up these craft quests.
