I find the mercenary quests to not be difficult at all. I actually don't mind that it doesn't count if your pet kill the monsters. If that was allowed all the higher lv players would have a bigger advantage. I think it takes the fun out of it. I started doing my quests on a daily basis. They are lots of fun.

yeah, theyre easy on my mage too. thats why i thought id try them on my sword..which it is ridicuosly painstaking. i shall follow the path of many melee before me and just skip these quests.

For someone that has the level, and can "mass murder" mobs:

Those quests were made with you in mind.
Which IMHO is just WRONG!

For the rest of us melee one-on-one fighters - I would NEVER classify it as "fun" - they are an exercise in frustration!

LK has kill 800 fire archers: Kill count: 0
- - yea I remember trying to drop a couple of fire plates - I never got 1. A mage told me "I can do it, it is easy for me!" It took a lvl 3k archer 3 weeks to get them and craft them to Chaotic armour. Yes that was NOT fun.

So yea, I am going to go kill 800 enemies that can attack me from outside the range of my light, where moving towards it to kill it face-to-face, only spawns more and I am in a cross fire. NOT FUN!

An idea:
  1. mage/fairy = Kill 1000000000
  2. dwarf/freya = Kill 250
  3. melee fighters = kill 100
Now let's hear the spell casters/self healers scream "Unfair!"

There is talk of balancing characters - what about "balancing" quests

i could see making the amount vary by class. maybe not to that extreme, but it could definitely use some tweaking.. otherwise allowing pet kills and maybe making the amounts needed higher would work ?

Of course for Freya/dwarf the fury skill is only good for melee enemies not ranged unless you can do a dance and manuever more than one in your range. I am currently on giant lava golems with Merc quest for that very reason only one kill at a time. :o

I was being "extreme" on purpose, knowing no way in a hot place. :twisted:

HIGHER!!!! Everyone in FT will be looking to kill me!

That's all we need, "OK folks, you can use pets now, BUT the 800 has now become 1200/1600 (whatever) ... so a 3k mage goes in with Red Dinos or Black Dragons ... and even with the higher numbers they kill faster than ever.

Me and my worms !¿! Right where we started, only now my pets are in danger so I leave them at home.

800+ :(

Let's see:
Range of Fire Archers = 11
Range of Light from a Mithril Miners Helmet = bet it is less than 11, or the 12 needed for the likes of a Fairy
Range of Worms = 1

Do not do Daily Quests ... there are much better and easier ways to level.
