Crafting with +1 or +2 Gear

Post by Humble_M »

I spent hours gathering materials and attempting to craft a Gold Plate. When it finally succeeded, I got a Gold Plate +1. Normally, I'd be overjoyed. However, I can't use a Gold Plate +1 as material to craft an Armor of Souls (my ultimate goal). So, this scenario got me thinking...

This is a 2 part suggestion:

1) +1 and +2 gear should be valid material
2) IF using a +1 gear, then maybe the craft success rate increases by 3%. If using +2 gear, then the success rate increases by 6%.

This way, +1 and +2 has some additional value in crafting. I'd be happy if part 1 was implemented; ecstatic if both parts implemented!

I agree, for whatever that is worth.

One distinction to think about is quests. If you need a specifically identified item such as a 250 plate it makes sense that a +1 or +2 variety isn't acceptable as the requirements are very specific. Allowing use of "plus" variants for crafting when the recipe calls for specific requirements also makes the logic a bit more questionable for quests then.

Still, I'd be for it. You could even make a #3 about plus variants slightly increasing the odds of a plus on the finished product (slightly).

I'm not suggesting to change the final product (chance at +1 or +2 should stay the same), just the ingredient(s). Also, I absolutely agree that quest items should not change.

Personally I would re-craft the 150 and sell the 150+1 at Map 0.0 You'd get some nice gold for it I would think.

My chance to make a 150 plate is 14%, made one in 10 attempts.
I should try again, I love crafting stuff.

I succeeded at failing! Yes I like that, my 'crafting exp goes up.

No worries. I'll make more attempts to craft a non + 150 armor. and, I did sell the +1 for profit

That's ok. In this case, failure is a good option: moves need closer to next level

Yes I know, "To fail is to succeed." That's why I tried. Now I go back for 3 more plates ...
