Ghost Archer vs Fairy Pet

Post by LostKnight »

Fairy, range: 12 and a Ghost Archer, range: 7

Code: Select all

ID: 430 Name: Fairy (lvl 190)
DMG: 3250 ARM: 30 DEX: 160
SPD: 8 RNG: 12 FREQ: 500
 HP: 42000 XP: 450000 XP/HP: 10,71

ID: 80 Name: Ghost Archer (lvl 150)
DMG: 600 ARM: 200 DEX: 90
SPD: 8 RNG: 7 FREQ: 500
HP: 60000 XP: 700000 XP/HP: 11,67
So here's my problem/question

How is it possible that a Ghost Archer, range: 7 can walk up and start killing a Fairy, range: 12 and the Fairy does NOT shoot back?

In my mind the Fairy, range: 12, should have started shooting as soon as the Ghost Archer, range: 7, reached the range: 12 limit!

Could someone please explain why this does not happen.
Just about lost a fairy over this, but edge of map was close at hand.

EDIT: range 8 to range 7 for GArcher

In the OP the stats are taked from the "Pets" PDF file.

Identical
Range 7 and range 12
Fairies have a range of +5 over the Archers and do not respond.

I assume the fairies were not moving as they won't shoot while walking. (I know you're very much aware of this, but just for thread development.)

Correct!

Ghost Archer walked up and started shooting, Fairies just stood there, like they were reading a newspaper and unaware!

Nick, are you sure about this? Where is your evidence?

The lists I have seen show a range of 12, and while GMs have pointed out some errors with the lists the fairy range wasn't one of them. Granted, that doesn't mean much.

I think this is a bug tbh... some pets with range don't attack something within a certain radius unless whipped.
Once whipped they attack it, even if it's from 1 space farther away than where they were originally...
Does life really get better?

GREAT! Another BUG!

Do I want to "test" this and maybe loose a fairy? I think not.

I had a similar occurrence with ogre halflings...one attacked and the other didn't even though at same range. So I think the whip suggestion is a valid possibility...when I whipped ogre then it attacked. I have to admit though I've never seen my fairies not try to nuetralize everything!!!! Hope not a bug.
