Add combat skill use to trades
I don't know if this has been suggested before, but while playing I got the idea of adding the use of combat skills to trades (successful usages against enemies to prevent farming it without enemies). Say you successfully use a skill to kill an enemy (once per cool down), it adds to your trades which will slightly lower your skill cool down time from 30(I think it is 30 seconds) to 29 seconds. Make it cap out at a lowered time of 15 or 20 seconds so that you can't constantly have a skill in use. Just a thought, I'm pretty sure I explained it how I thought of it.

Sorry if it seems confusing, it makes more sense in my head and its sort of hard to explain how it would work. Summed up its simply leveling your skill use would decrease the cooldown time.

Like the reverse of crafting skill that increases. In this case after so many kills your cool down time to wait on a combat skill decreases. 30,29,28 etc. So eventually using an auto spawn area as an example where once you used a skill once a minute for each spawn at 20 you could use it twice...at 15 three times in that minutes time. If I understand the suggestion.

Re: Add combat skill use to trades
I believe the OP is basically if you use a skill often enough or kill enough mobs with it (that'd be harder) your skill "levels up" and the cooldown time before you can use it again decreases.
It is interesting as a general concept. Maybe there are ways around these issues, but there are differences in skills and handling them the same might be an issue. You can't kill mobs with a swordsman freeze skill, a dwarf's sprint skill, etc. so it'd almost have to be tied to use I would think.

Yes, it would work something along these lines, non combat skills would just tie in with the general cooldown of all your skills.SellSword wrote: Sat Aug 31, 2019 9:11 pm I believe the OP is basically if you use a skill often enough or kill enough mobs with it (that'd be harder) your skill "levels up" and the cooldown time before you can use it again decreases.

OK, but if you walk away from that session of grinding ... and go back the next day it's like a fresh clean start right?

I think it'd be better/easier just to remove the "Global" cooldown, but that's just me.
