Hi everyone,
since (as also admitted by Combtant himself) adding new particle effects does not weigh down the server, I'm wondering, why not add some blood to the killings?
Obviously there is a lot to say about it.
You could make a small lake of blood when the enemy falls (which then disappears along with it) or splashes of blood from the enemy hit.
obviously in options it must be something that must be chosen by the player (and if I'm not mistaken, I must say that I am of legal age I don't know!)
I would love it, when a weapon hits blood spatter, when it hits magic it could incinerate the enemy.
Or when a pool of blood dies from dead from weapons, a dust carried away by the wind if died by magic.
come on it's cool!

Re: Blood Effect
I think effects lag out the game enough. No need to make it Evan more laggy.
Evan without lag I would disagree with it. Why is it becoming soo realistic? Were getting updates that cos lag instead of important features we NEED!

Re: Blood Effect
This would be neat if it you fought few enemies, but since it's pretty common to fight swarms of monsters all the time that would really add up.
The biggest problem with the current effects, in my opinion of course, is with the mage for that same reason. So many targets to animate and often not stopping for long at all. Yes, the dwarf fury skill seems ridiculously oversized or should at least be more transparent, but even that is just a single animation.
Maybe like a PvP death animation or something like that where it would be limited.

Re: Blood Effect
Its true!
A animation on single weapon?
now some weapons have animations when they hit, others may release spatters of blood when they hit, such as sparks
So the animation will be tied to the weapon and should not weigh down the graphics, just as it is now

Re: Blood Effect
I do like the look of the current animations, but in a pvm crowd it can be difficult see what's going on ( for example: status of pets and which monsters are being attacked).
I also had a warning message on my phone that the animations were using too much memory (or something like that - I forget the exact wording).
For these reasons, I have my animation set to 0% - and even then they don't completely disappear.

It is true I am from perhaps an older generation that looks at things with a different slant so I realize I may be in a small minority.
Since this game is still rated for "Everyone" which is another topic that could be discussed in another thread it seems to me our young players don't need anything more graphic like blood. If so I would encourage a ratings change before implementing it.

That's a very good point and reminds me of a similar discussion last July: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=16930&p=114635&hilit=Pegi#p114635Gullander wrote: Wed May 27, 2020 2:23 pm It is true I am from perhaps an older generation that looks at things with a different slant so I realize I may be in a small minority.

It is definitely related to the discussion in this thread. The two points go hand in hand.
