I looked through the quest file that compbatant himself sent to me before. There is no ancient weapon piece requested. The only "ancient ___" is the ancient armor line. Below is how it is in the quest file.

chat_npc I have a task for you. Bring me a Piece of Ancient Armor.

would the altar quest be shown in the logs too ? It would be nice ! Its more easier for players. Its the same like on the tarantula map. There we see it in the logs too. Till the next day.

38 days nothing , i gave there 38x 70m + 38 items including sting , hoof , staff 200 ...etc. nothing more than YOUR PRAYER WAS NOT HEART.
