3> You can log out but your character stays in the game for 60 seconds before completely disconnected also you cannot go to another map for 120 seconds with a notice ( duration included ) but once you attack again the timer resets to 120 seconds.blitzcraig wrote:-EDIT-
here's what I think (most or all has been said somewhere before, and mostly not my ideas, but let's put it together here) .. should be easy to implement, hard to abuse, and fair
1> outlaw after 5 initiated attacks, regardless of kills (unless both in clan of course) ...seriously, you can't just go around shooting people with arrows and be considered a good-guy, even if you don't kill them... it would have to be an actual attack, not just
target because that can easily happen by accident
2> when you initiate an attack, you cannot "untarget" except by death or logging off
3> when you initiate an attack, you cannot log off for 60 seconds
4> implement new command "/t name" to target players hiding on border or in big crowd"
5> item drop rate in pvp should be reduced to match the drop rate of the same item in pvm (1/1000 for Odin Helm, 0% for dark robe etc...)
I think after these five, the only pvp issue left is melee classes being able to engage (but let's leave that on another thread ; )
I agree with 2 & 4 but for 1 I have another idea you guys might like:
1. Retaliation time is increased up to 4 hours even if the guy logs in/out and the color of the attacker on the map is changed to brown.
My thoughts on 5 is neutral.
My Kiyan is an archer, hit and run is a tactic and having a strategy is a part of the game but logging in/out to avoid a fight you started is another.
Sometimes people aren't man enough to finish what they started.

Re: Outlaw warning - I protest!
that's basically what I meant with #3, but I like the way you classified it
... you might actually log off, but character would remain in game for 60 seconds. also, you couldn't change maps at all until log off or death, because you would be in combat.
I like your idea for number 1 better than what I listed here, (a bit like my enemies list idea) but it is more work to implement, so I was going for simple
... also, those players would outlaw pretty quick so you can retaliate all you want

I don't like the idea of dropping hard-earned items in combat either, and I admit that not dropping items is appealing... yet without this feature pvp becomes less attractive, and I feel many players do in fact like the pvp feature. To eliminate it altogether would upset them, especially those who have invested cash towards this goal.
Perhaps since clanning is supposed to be pvp oriented, maybe lower drop rates for non-clanned, non-outlawed players is in order. Coupled with stricter outlaw conditions (listed above), it will be more difficult for players to take advantage of this in pvp. Also abusers of other tricks (such as declanning) listed in other threads, would need to be addressed.
All said, this is not a simple solution. But simpler solutions are not always best... but in the end its up to creator, as he has to do all the work. I hope eventually he does do a whole re-work of the system, but not until he is sure of the best course of action.
So in the midst of all this complaining, I would like to say thank you to creator for giving us a good game, hard work, and the opportunity for us to try and contribute to making it a better game.
I would also say to others, be patient. This takes a lot of time to do. Reading old forums, and talking to long time players, this game has come a very long way, and players opinions are not ignored. Just keep your cool and try to enjoy the game as it is.

We all do enjoy the game as it is.. but for the others, the more they enjoy, the more they are bound to cross the line and somewhat they are consistent about it.MadMikael wrote:I don't like the idea of dropping hard-earned items in combat either, and I admit that not dropping items is appealing... yet without this feature pvp becomes less attractive, and I feel many players do in fact like the pvp feature. The solution is not that hard, give players an opt out for PvP! It's that simple, I'm sick of these punks that play the game with the soul intention of f****** with other players! I don't understand why the mods or creators would even consider protecting that behavior! There needs to be more karma in the game, rewards for virtuous behavior and punishment for bad! The number of punks roaming the game is ridiculous and it is ruining the game for a lot of us! Do something already!

A touch of PVP is normal, we just need to balance the scale and its definitely urgent this time before some players get tired of the broken system and leave the game.
