the games decline

Post by Mike »

I come on the game now and see less people every week. Archers used to be packed all the time, corpse dungeon, bottom map blue sword men tower, library, spawn map. Only seems to be on a weekend now that I seem to see more people..... When spawn party's used to be held in the lava map it used to be full of lvl 100+, tons of them.. What's going on. Now the less people on the game the more bored I'm getting, I used to be on this game like 14 hours a day and every chance I could get to come on here I would.. I would even play at work and train all day but don't bother anymore. Now I play like 4 hours a day if that....looks like game could do with a boost to regain all its players back or even get their interest a bit more.

"Oh look at this dead horse, I think I will beat on it a few times".

I noticed the sharp decline starting back a few updates ago when health regen during PvM was removed. Myself and countless other players would log on, grind away while chatting and carrying on. Now you can't do that. You have to be very careful while grinding to not die. I still enjoy playing, just not nearly as much. I had to completely change my play style to adapt to the current set up. What I used to spend hours on end doing on FT, now I get tired of in 30 minutes or less. One day, months on end ahead, when I am at a high enough level when I can relax while grinding again, I may play more. Right now, its more of a chore than a leisure.

It could also be seasonal as well, school and college being in session.

he would get mad twice then ;) ... seriously though, the game is still evolving and growing quickly, some of the players have grown faster than the game for sure, but new stuff is coming all the time :) ... (eww, that horse is starting to smell :D )

You don't feel that much boredom till level 200 but the moment you hit it, and got the gear for level 200, the motivation fossilizes. There are no items for higher levels, no inspiring events, nothing that would force you to leave the task at hand, and log into FT. Besides, leveling up is harder at higher levels, and monsters are not paying you well with regards to xp. And you also feel that there is nothing new to discover, no more uncharted lands, no new challenges. I have explored each and every land of FT even the jail (Jay G knows the secret) :D

The question arises, why should I level more(if you are not in clan)? Spawn parties are fewer. Those that are celebrated, a lot of players don't even know about. A kind of 'alienation' and 'en strangeness' come in.

AnubisC is doing a great job, she is a motivation for the new players (popularly known as noobs). I saw today when two level 20 got ice plates as rewards, they could not wait to hit level 50,

Inspiring are the events of SoCal but are marred by the absence of an in-game clock.

Yes, Mike, I agree with you on this head and share your concerns.

I can see your point Elia, but I enjoyed talking with other players while grinding. I enjoyed just hanging out. Several of the players I used to do that with left the game though. Now, if i try to hang with a group players either moan that you are stealing THEIR spawn or even worse over spawning high level monsters then logging.

I have become completely recluse in game as a result

I know what Mike is saying and see it myself, the whole atmosphere in game has changed. I look forward to seeing what comes next. Who knows, maybe things will pick up like it used to be.

Here is to hoping.
